Where to See Aurora Borealis in Iceland
The northern lights or Aurora Borealis is a sight to behold. Though they can be seen in many parts of Iceland, the following are the best places to get a good view of the spectacular Arctic phenomenon.
1. Thingvellir National Park
Thingvellir National Park is one of the most popular sites for viewing the northern lights. It is located in southwest Iceland and is easily accessible from Reykjavík. Ideally, the best time to visit this place is when there is no moonlight, as the sky will be darker and allow for more visibility.
